Chapter 4B
I feel like Americans have busier days than French people do. We work longer hours everyday and have more to spend our time on. I know that we have simliar things like meal breaks and such, but the French just seem to have more leisure time.
Military time is not very common where I'm from. I know that nurses and doctors use military time so it's easier to distinguish am from pm on documents and such, but other than that I don't really know of any other place that uses military time regularly. I use the 12hour time clock. This is what I was taught and what makes the most sense to me.
I'm from the middle of nowhere Missouri, we don't have fashion events. The closest thing I can think of is prom, where all of the high schoolers dress up in pretty outfits. Prom's an annual event and you usually have to be in high school to participate, unless there's some special exception.
Fashion events can boost the economy if lots of people are buying the clothing items on display. Exchange of money and goods is always a good thing. Fashion has a pretty significant cultural impact on us and the countries around us because it shows everyone what the best thing to wear is or what's trending or whatever it may be. We learn what's culturally appropriate to wear and do by looking at the fashion from each country.
